What is documentary family photography?
It means photography that isn’t a chore. Imagine … not posed … not stressful … not stuffing the kids in outfits, standing in a random field and told to smile. That’s not who you are, so that’s not what we do. Instead, we document the movement, the stillness, and that rare combination of both that gives a glimpse into your REAL LIFE.

So much of parenting can feel mundane. It can feel like nothing we do is worth capturing because it’s so repetitive. But one night, after years of a bedtime routine you’ve followed maybe since birth, you’re going to realize she doesn’t need to be tucked in anymore. That small part of parenting—quietly and without warning—has come to an end.

When we’re just hanging with you instead of throwing out poses or prompts, you’ll be surprised at how easy it all is. There’s this great shift that happens when we’re spending the day with your family. You’ll see yourselves and your kids settle in—even the dog will stop trying to impress us. And it’s through this ease that the best images are born…cooking a meal, playing a board game, simply being together. Will your kids suddenly be perfectly behaved angels? Of course not! But why would you want them to be?
The whole point of documentary style is that you don’t have to prepare. We’re not over here expecting you to plan outfits or power clean.
We’ve got a knack for reading kids (and, to be honest, spouses too) and adjusting our approach to what you need to feel comfortable. We always bring calm vibes and no expectations, and we ask you to treat today like any other. The result is a collection of images that show YOUR REAL. And that can’t be beat.
